Description ~ Two-Colored Brioche

This cruise friendly introduction to 2 color brioche in the round will give you all the skills you need to begin your brioche adventure.  We will start with an I-cord you work ahead and cover setting up your pattern, the differences that working in the round presents, finding where you are in your project, backing up properly, and (Most important of all!) picking up dropped brioche stitches.


Materials Needed ~ Two-Colored Brioche

  • 2 different colors- 100g each (approximately 275 yds each) DK weight yarn in a color you can see
  • US #8 (5.0mm) needles, 24" circular needle
  • Locking Stitch Markers
  • Crochet Hook size G


Homework ~ Two-Colored Brioche

With Color A: Cast on 3 sts, leaving a 12" tail.  Work 3 stitch I cord for 135 rows.  Place live stitches onto a stitch holder or large stitch marker.  Do not break the yarn. To work a 3 stitch I-cord: Cast on 3 sts, DO NOT TURN,  *Slide these stitches to the right end of your circular or double pointed needle. The yarn should be coming from the left-most stitch. Drag the yarn across the back of the work and knit the same 3 stitches, DO NOT TURN.  Repeat from the * to length desired.
